When I eat healthy why am I starving at the end of the day?

I ate a bowl of oatmeal, a banana and had coffee this morning morning, I had a handful of almonds for a midmorning snack, for lunch I had a tuna salad sandwich with a yogurt, for a snack I ate an apple with some cheese slices and then for dinner I had baked chicken with brown rice and mixed veggies. My dessert was a strawberry cheesecake flavored yogurt. Ok I don’t know if this is a lot to eat but to me it seemed pretty healthy. So why am I sitting here at 8 pm freaking ravished. I feel all shaky and my belly is growling. I had over 1500 calories with carbs and proteins so why am I still starving. Every time I eat healthy I end up starving no matter what I eat. I’m tired of spending extra money on healthy food only to end up raiding my fridge at night b/c my belly won’t stop growling and I feel my blood sugar drop. I’m not diabetic I’m just trying to lose weight. What can I do?

    You have to eat every two hours to make your metabolism keep going

    Try to fit more fiber into your diet, fiber helps to keep you feeling full. Whole grains and oats are great sources of fiber. So are raw fruits and vegetables (when they’re cooked, the fiber is broken down and easily processed by your body).

    Also, try to space out your food more over the day. First eat your banana, then wait until you feel hungry again before you eat your oatmeal.

    You may also want to bump up your calorie intake by a couple hundered more calories until your metabolism adjusts. If you were consuming 2200 calories, your body adjusted to burn that many so drastically changing the amount can make you feel hungry/shakey. Gradually work your way down to your goal of 1500.

    Don’t snack then. Just have three heavy meals. Try to substitute fattening things for healthier but don’t change your usual diet. Just drink water throughout the day and if you must snack, snack on fruit or homemade unsalted popcorn or a handfull of seeds/nuts/raisins. (once again unsalted, as salt retains water which makes you bloat etc.) Don’t starve yourself though otherwise you end up crash dieting which is worse than not dieting at all. Hope that was of use =)

    Seems pretty healthy to me. =D. You might want to up your calorie intake a little more.

    Or you could try eating 6 or 7 meals a day (same amount of cals per day) ..so you don’t feel so starving. Eating a little more often can help get rid of those hunger pains.

    Additionally, are you drinking enough water? Water can help fill you up. Oh and additional fiber helps too.

    Your hunger might just be due to your body getting adjusted. Obviously, your body is not used to your new diet so it may just take some time.

    “over 1500 calories with carb or proteins” ….what about the fats? You want to try balancing your diet (30% carbs, 30% proteins, 30% fat and 10% your choice).

    You seem to have a low blood sugar problem and it;s hitting you at night. I would suggest that you change the yogurt dessert to something made out of protien and not eat it right after you have dnner, but wait a llittle till it’s closer to your bed time. Also add some Ginsing and Chromium Picolinte to your diet, one pill of each in the mornnig and one at night and that should even out your hunger cravings
