I am a really bad cook and want to attempt an easy meal for my husband for Valentines Day. He is diabetic so I am unable to cook anything with too much sugar in it, he also does not eat pork or ham so that is out as well.

My husband is a extremely picky eater and a type 1 diabetic. His food interests are extremely limited. And a lot of food smells make him sick. I come from a home where we love to cook and eat most foods.
Any good ideas for a recipe’s that involve plain/blan food topics? Or perhaps you know someone like this in your life where you could share how you dealt with it?
Thanks!

please dont answer this question with cook books and web addresses. im looking for meal ideas for me and my boyfriend. can be quick and easy or things that take time to cook. does anyone have family recipes i could try? im just bored making the same things all of the time. what makes it hard is i just found out im diabetic and im on a carb restricted diet. but any meal ideas you have could be paired up with salads and veggies. anything different with chicken or ground beef? any other meats would be fine, im just not sure how to cook much else. any different seasonings? things i could make in a crock pot that i could throw in before work and be done when i get home? im just so bored with my dinner routine lol helpppp…

What kinds of things would you enjoy and/or want to see at a refreshment/dessert only reception? And do you know of any good sugar free desserts to serve for the many diabetic guests that may attend?
I would love to go to a bakery, however we don’t have any around here. Closest one is almost an hour and a half away- maybe more.
I’m not even sure what Patissery is, so I guess not. I live in a very small area in Maine. The only things we have in my town/area are fast food places and Wal*Mart. Other than that, we have to drive at least an hour in any direction to get to it. Also, we are planning on making everything ourselves- well, some family is helping. (They have offered, and even insisted. I didn’t ask nor am I making/requiring them to do anything.)

My husband and I are both overweight and he’s diabetic, so we both should eat low-carb meals. He does most of the cooking and doesn’t have the patience for difficult recipes, plus we can’t afford a lot of fancy ingredients. A recommended recipe or website would be great. Thanks!!

My two year old is on a low sugar diet and is allergic to nuts. The doctor has suggested that he get more fiber in his diet. So, I was looking for some ideas on a granola that I could make that he could eat for a snack.

We’re supposed to provide dessert tomorrow evening at a small dinner party. Out of 8 people, 2 are diabetic. What sort of desserts would be something they could eat, but also be sweet enough for everyone to enjoy?

I am going to thanksgiving at my aunt and uncles. My cousin has a severe peanut allergy(anything with peanut oil in it sets him off….and most nuts so please keep that in mind) and my uncle is a diabetic. Any ideas on what to make for a dessert that may accommodate both? If not I would appreciate recipes for either or……thanks in advance!

My neighbor is diabetic and we have cook outs a lot during the summer. I am always in charge of dessert but she can never eat what I make. What are some great diabetic dessert recipes that everyone can enjoy? Thank You!
