I ate a bowl of oatmeal, a banana and had coffee this morning morning, I had a handful of almonds for a midmorning snack, for lunch I had a tuna salad sandwich with a yogurt, for a snack I ate an apple with some cheese slices and then for dinner I had baked chicken with brown rice and mixed veggies. My dessert was a strawberry cheesecake flavored yogurt. Ok I don’t know if this is a lot to eat but to me it seemed pretty healthy. So why am I sitting here at 8 pm freaking ravished. I feel all shaky and my belly is growling. I had over 1500 calories with carbs and proteins so why am I still starving. Every time I eat healthy I end up starving no matter what I eat. I’m tired of spending extra money on healthy food only to end up raiding my fridge at night b/c my belly won’t stop growling and I feel my blood sugar drop. I’m not diabetic I’m just trying to lose weight. What can I do?

please dont answer this question with cook books and web addresses. im looking for meal ideas for me and my boyfriend. can be quick and easy or things that take time to cook. does anyone have family recipes i could try? im just bored making the same things all of the time. what makes it hard is i just found out im diabetic and im on a carb restricted diet. but any meal ideas you have could be paired up with salads and veggies. anything different with chicken or ground beef? any other meats would be fine, im just not sure how to cook much else. any different seasonings? things i could make in a crock pot that i could throw in before work and be done when i get home? im just so bored with my dinner routine lol helpppp…

every morning, I always wake up late like 11AM… and my mother is a diabetic..she complains that she is experiencing hypo and so I cook egg and rice or I will just reheat the food from last night’s dinner..
but sometimes, she chooses to eat bread with coke! She said that coke has a lot of sugar and so it will be absorbed by the body faster to lower down her hypo…
I think she is tired eating fish and chicken but my father and I just bought lots of chicken! lol.. like drumsticks, thigh, and wings..
do you know any delicious food recommended for diabetic? or chicken recipes except fried chicken? lol..

I’m going to my dad’s Tuesday to make dinner for us. I want it to be kind of fancy, and don’t mind how difficult the recipe is or how long it takes to make, I love to cook. He doesn’t always eat the healthiest and I want to try to give him a healthy dish that will be good for his body. His kidneys are failing and are at 16%, so I want to be sure that it isn’t salty or anything and will help not hurt his body. He is also diabetic.
Recipes or ideas are welcome, thanks!

IF such a thing exists. We have several on our guest list who are diabetic and don’t need alot of sugar. We have others on the list who are confirmed health food nuts and won’t touch artificial sweetneners with a ten foot pole.
Obviously, I could do two desserts – one regular and one sugar-free, but I would really like to beat the odds and see if there is a dessert recipe – tried and true – to satisfy both camps.

Does anyone have any? I don’t really want to make apple pie, and I have tons of homemade apple butter in the freezer. No baked apples either because I don’t like those.
What else can I do with apples? It has to be super low sugar, like no more than 1/3 c.
I am also alergic to nuts.

My dad was recently diagnosed with high cholesterol, high blood pressure and borderline diabetes and my family is struggling to provide him with a tasty diet.
My family ALWAYS eats meat! Now that he can’t my mom is seriously confused on what to feed my dad, she thought adding veggies to his old diet would help…WRONG!
After a week of turkey burgers she thought it be okay if he ate some meat so she fed him some fajitas…pretty much she fed him what he USED TO eat and the next day his hand was swollen! (My dad LOVES salt!)
We freaked out and now he’s back on turkey, chicken and fish but my mom isn’t a very versatile cook so it all tastes bland and my I see my dad looking in the cabinets after every meal looking for a tasty snack…I need to find a cookbook that covers all of his health issues in Spanish because my mom doesn’t read in English.
I want a recipe book! Some of the English books I saw were mostly info and a few recipes…and I don’t want my mom to feel intimidated (she was freaking out after she saw all the restrictions on my dad’s diet).
I appreciate any help provided, I tried searching in Spanish but my Spanish isn’t all that great and I ended getting confused…
Thanks for your help!
