I’m looking for a good combination of flours to use for baking a sweet cheese braid. I don’t want to buy a pre-mixed flour. I want to mix my own. I need the right combination. I also want to make it lower in carbohydrates for a diabetic. I’m not sure what to use since this is a dessert bread.
Any suggestions?

I would like to make a cake or some type of dessert (needs to be easily transportable – ie. cupcakes, brownies, etc) however one of the people that would be eating it is diabetic (she does very occasionally eat a square of chocolate, but only if feeling “shakyâ€), and another is gluten intolerant.
I would ring and ask them what substitutes they use however I wanted it to be a surprise as it is for a joint birthday celebration this weekend.
I know you can buy gluten free flour, but would I have to mix it with something else? And I’m unsure how to make it sugar-free (or with low enough carbohydrates that she can eat it)?
Can I just use normal recipes and substitute?
Would really appreciate some help!
Thanks.

I am having an aunt and uncle over and was planning to cook a Dill-Seasoned Salmon on the BBQ, served with Wild Rice and a lightly oiled/salted veg.
As far as I understand, all of the above should be OK with both diets.
What about dessert? Any suggestions on an easy or store-bought dessert? Or should I just go with two different desserts for the group?
Thanks!

I need some homestyle recipes to cook for our family that is gluten and sugar free. Its too cold for us still so grilling isn’t quiet an option yet. We know that beef stew, pot roasts, any kind of soup is an option but he’s getting sick of it and so am I! We want homestyle meals, I bought some gluten free flour but I don’t know what to cook with it. Any ideas? For meats we have hamburg, stew meat, steak, and chicken in our freezer. For veggies he can have broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, carrots, and green beans. No corn or potatoes.
I was just trying to get more of a variety since this diet is new to us, my husband was diagnosed with lyme disease so they put him on this diet.
