My father-in-law is diabetic (slightly) so he tries not to eat anything that diabetics cant eat. For 4th of July I was going to make an angel food cake with low fat/sugar free whipped cream on the top with fruit layers on top of that.
My dilemma – i looked up the recipe for angel food cake and there is sugar in it – i was going to just buy an angel food cake at the store, but now that i see it has sugar would it be ok for my father-in-law to eat?
Any suggestions for a dessert for diabetics would be appreciated (easy recipes and easy to travel with).

My little niece has juvenile diabetes. Whenever she goes to birthday parties she wants cake. It’s hard to make her understand she can’t have any. Her b-day is coming up she will be 6. I would like to bake her a cake a regular birthday cake but sugar free. She loves icing. Does anyone know of a recipe?

My father’s birthday is this month, as he’s diabetic I’m trying to make a cake that’s a bit better for him than the traditional birthday cake.
What I’d like to do is make a single sheet, 9×9 angel food sheet cake and frost it with a raspberry whipped cream frosting. (yeah, real healthy, I know)
The problem I’m having is every recipe I find for angel food cake needs to be baked in a tube pan. Does anyone have a recipe to bake it in a square (or round) cake pan?
I don’t need answers like “Make it as normal and put it in a flat pan” unless you know for a FACT that due to the cooking tendencies of angel food cake, it won’t be burned on the edges and raw in the center.

I am trying to put Christmas cookies/candies together for my boyfriend’s family, but his mother is diabetic and I’m confused by the “Diabetic Exchange” at the bottom of the recipe. Most say to use cake flour. Is that better than the bleached all purpose flour that most people use?
Also, any ideas for good cookie/candy type desserts are much appreciated! I’ve been sifting through web sites for hours and it’s a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, but I do not want her to feel left out at all!
Thank you so much for your help! =]

My daughter’s first birthday is coming up. I can’t find a bakery that does sugar free or egg free cakes. Does anyone know of any recipes for one? I guess i will be making my own!

My grandfather is a diabetic and I want him to be able to enjoy dessert with the rest of us at Thanksgiving. Please give me your best desserts suitable for diabetics. (something other than just plain angelfood cake!)

Does anyone know any decent sugar-free (or at least no sugar added, I can use apple sauce and other fruit purees and things like that) recipes for bundt cakes? I just received two as birthday gifts, and have been successful in making lots of sugary ones, but am unable to eat sugar myself, so I want to give it a shot without it.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
I know I can use Splenda in place of sugar; however, in things like cakes and cookies where the sugar is needed for the actual chemical structure of the finished product, specific recipes that have been tailored to the use of splenda are necessary.
